March 16, 2003 - The Women’s National Invitation Tournament will kick off the 2003 postseason action for women’s basketball with a 32-team field, highlighted by Auburn, Baylor and Iowa.
The Mountain West and Missouri Valley conferences were well-represented, with three teams each in the WNIT. A total of 19 conferences have teams in the WNIT.
First-round games will be played beginning Wednesday, March 19 through Friday, March 21.
All tournament games are played at participating schools. No seeds are designated. Here are the tournament pairings, the teams and their records. Game times will be announced Monday, March 17, by the WNIT.
